Intuition - Utah Jazz

INTUITION – FRIDAY 28th SEPTEMBER

UTAH JAZZ + KOMONAZMUK

TB2 . SMALL ST . BRISTOL

IN THE MAIN ROOM: DRUM AND BASS

Liquid funkster Utah Jazz, darling of super-labels Hospital, Good Looking and V Recordings is perched happily at the apex of his own unique drum & bass dynasty. Continuing to make unashamedly traditional, sample based, soul-fuelled tunes that sound nothing like the    'cutting edge' D&B of today, he is a shrewd musician who is looking forward as much as gazing back.

Despite protesting that his skills are a lesson in    "taste over technicality", it is evident that Utah Jazz has nailed both. Following his remarkable debut LP:      'IT'S A JAZZ THING' and the beautiful long playing masterpiece:      'VINTAGE',  the DJ, producer and remixer extraordinaire returns this summer with a rare, refined, shining example of why he continues to earn legions of international fans. We expect an indulgence in 90 minutes of some of the finest liquid-funk in drum & bass history . Utah Jazz is a man excavating D&B gold in the manner in which his idols did - long may he delve.

IN THE BAR ROOM: BEATS AND BASS

Komonazmuk has released on some of the biggest independent labels in the scene including H.E.N.C.H, Tempa, Apple Pips, Combat & Metal Headz to name a few. He's also produced remixes for the likes of Bonobo, My My & Emika, Side Show and Paul Woolford. Komonazmuk recently featured on BBC radio 1 with Mary Ann Hobbs and can be found DJ'ing across the globe.

Branston and Joe Virus will bubbling out the rolling dubs in a four-deck mix,  STF's Icon Roller and Endo, and Extent Recordings' Sub:stance and Darkhalf will be dropping their drum n bass razzle-dazzle, and all nicely kept in line with the lyrical flow of Megatron and Twitchee Chordz

Bass from Bristol to Berlin emerging from the bar room stoked-up by 808 Bronx, Eton Messy, Amity, Mossy and Forma.

And at our new home TB2, Small Street, Bristol, which in our opinion, is one of the best clubs, if not the best club in Bristol, with it's twists and turns beneath the Bristol city centre, and DJ booth dead centre, the tunnel-like main room provides a unique intimacy that other floor plans cannot offer.

£5 adv tickets available now from Bristol Ticket Shop, Union Street, or bristolticketshop.co.uk
