The Island fringe event for See No Evil: The Evil Island takeover.
Making the most of the creative energy surrounding Nelson Street this week from the widely acclaimed urban art project See No Evil, The Island (formerly The Old Police station) has scheduled an exciting, fringe and multi disciplinary FREE daytime event that will take over the building on the 18th August. The event including exhibitions, workshops, music, live graffiti art as well as loads of other activities to keep you amused. Both The Island’s Gallery (Bridewell street) and The Yard (Nelson street) will be welcoming everyone and anyone to a wide range of art activities with a sweet line up to match.
The Island artists will be presenting… Just out of Sight, art exhibition at The Gallery space (Bridewell street) from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August.
On the Saturday night (from 7 pm to 2 am) The Island’s Gallery (Bridewell street) and The Yard (Nelson street) will turn into the EVIL ISLAND for a benefit party to showcase a great variety of electronic dance music from different collectives such as Studio9, the legendary ‘Police Rave Unit’, Idle Hands, Soul Motive, Ruffneck Diskotek and record labels like Apologue Recordings, Soundwaves and Frantik. Expect plenty of House, Disco, Techno, Glitch, Bass and everything in between. Also don’t forget to visit the “Cell Out” shop, which will be home for the Micro Rave IPF crew. Entry to the Evil Island will be £5(The Yard)/£3 (The Gallery)and will give access to each area.
