We bring you the latest news from the street art world. Last Thursday C215 opened a solo show at the Signal Gallery in London. If one artist knows how to use colour, it’s certainly this guy! C215 born in France has traveled the world painting in all major cities. His work is figurative and powerful to any passer by in the street. This is an unmissable show, we recommend getting down to this one! For more info see the Signal Gallery website.

Eine has taken the world by storm! Earlier last week, Eine received a phone call from Samantha Cameron who is a huge fan of his work. She asked if Eine wouldn’t mind painting a piece for David Cameron to give to US president Barrack Obama, and of course Eine agreed! Within a couple of days Eine had produced a piece with his traditional shutter font lettering in the words ‘Twenty First Century City’. He has also recently painted 40 shop shutters with the alphabet on Middlesex Street after persuading shopkeepers to allow him to paint on them to turn the street into a bright urban walkway. The recent exchange of Cameron’s gift to Obama has been featured on news all over the world, leading to the artist’s work selling out at his represented galleries. We hope to hear more very soon!

This years Foo Fest marks AS220's twenty-fifth anniversary by launching the Free Culture Award, a national honor bestowed every other year on two artists. This year it’s AS220's own Jukebox creator, Brandon Edens and contemporary artist Shepard Fairey.

Edens & Fairey will be honored with the Free Culture Awards at Foo Fest on August 14. AS220 has also commissioned a mural from Fairey on an exterior wall of the downtown Chafee Center, the piece will be the largest mural by Fairey in existence. To commemorate all these events, AS220 is producing a limited edition print with Fairey in two colourways. Two editions are currently in production: an edition of 400 in a red colourway at $75 and an edition of 150 in a gold colourway at $150.
The prints can be purchased from here.
