Lorenzo! at Weapon of Choice

Weapon of Choice have gone from strength to strength recently, hosting exhibitions from Mick Hockney, Andy Council and an upcoming Kurtis Blow gig to boot. This month sees no signs of them slowing down with comic artist Lorenzo! bringing his exhibition ‘One Man Army’ to the gallery on Friday 26 March.

Lorenzo! is a well established comic book artist who’s co-created both the award winning 'Malcolm Magic' and The Guardian’s ‘Monkey Nuts’ strips. On top of this he’s worked for a staggering client list, including Transformers, Dreamworks' ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and ‘Madagascar’ movies, Random House, Titan, Harper Collins, DFB, Future Publishing, Slave Lavour Graphics and more...phew!
The exhibition at Weapon of Choice has been described as ‘dark pop for the post-Gorillaz generation' and will include a series of graphic portraits depicting dark miscreants; robots, monkeys, robot monkeys, the undead and soon-to-be-dead.

To prepare for the exhibition, Lorenzo! has been digging into the archives of his favourite illustrations and turning them into brand new, exclusive designs. There will be 7 new paintings and a series of prints available at the show, all limited to exclusive runs of one, so it’s a great chance to get something truly unique. Turn up early to avoid disappointment!

One Man Army previews Friday 26 March 6-10pm at Weapon of Choice Gallery and will run until April 25. Please see the Facebook Event for more information. For more on Lorenzo’s work, check out his blog.
