How to be an Exotic Dancer with Hope Taylor

For this week’s How To I’ve been talking to a lady called Hope Taylor who has been an exotic dancer for over seven years. I asked her if she was willing to share some tips on shaking her lady bits for cash and she was happy to oblige.

DP: Hi, Hope!

Hope Taylor: Hiya, alright?

DP: So what are the essential items for a striptease?

1. I call these ‘porn shoes’. They're big and chunky with a big heel, but the platform gives lift too so you don’t fall over. They make you look taller and help your posture to make your bum stick out a bit more.

2. A nice Thong and Bra are essential, matching is good! You need something to take off! Haha.

3. It’s great to wear something glamorous or a uniform… failing that you can just go for good old PVC!

4. Finally, you’re going to need some men in the audience, especially if you're looking to make some money!

DP: Great, so what are some good moves to pull off while you’re up there?

Hope: Well if you're pole dancing there are a number of things you can do ranging in difficulty.

You can swing on the pole, this is relatively easy for beginners to get used to things.

You can try working the pole a little bit

.

DP: Anything a bit more advanced?

Hope: You can try this one:

1. Climb up the pole.

2. Hang upside down on the pole.

3. Right yourself and slide down with your legs open.

DP: Christ, that sounds like it takes quite a bit of upper body strength!

Hope: Yeah, it does.

DP: Any other pointers?

Hope: No naughty toes?

DP: N.. Naughty Toes? What are they?

Hope: Keep them pointed at all times! And make sure you look at your audience!

DP: Keep them mesmerised?

Hope: Haha, yeah. Apart from that, stand upright, keep smiling and have fun with it!

DP: I'll bear all of this in mind. Thank you Hope Taylor!

Hope: No problem!
