Don't Panic, in association with Fiat, want you to design a poster on the theme of ‘Everyday Masterpieces’. This is to celebrate the spirit of classic design inherent in their recently revamped Fiat 500. The Fiat 500 was first released in 1957 to instant acclaim, and taking inspiration from this the new 500 charms us with its distinctive yet recognisable retro-cool.
We encourage you to employ the theme of 'Everyday Masterpieces' as broadly as you like. Take a look at the brilliant designs that you might take for granted but couldn’t live without, like the new Fiat 500, for example. Your poster design doesn’t need to include the Fiat logo, it doesn’t even need to include a car. Think of the design classics you see every day - drawing pins, tea pots, scissors, chopsticks (okay, most things on my desk) and creatively re-envision them. Rethink the icons of the everyday, and reinvent the wheel.
The winning poster design will be printed on one side of our Future poster, and distributed in our packs around the globe, to be seen by hundreds of thousands of people and be noticed for the next step in your career.
As well as having their artwork distributed around the world, the winner will be sent exclusive invitations to the 500 Picnic. This will be hosted at Alexandra Park on 5 July, and guests will be presented with designer Guzzini hampers, brimming with Italian food and drinks. The afternoon will be packed with events, from volleyball games to tai chi lessons. Picnic attendees will also be able to enter competitions to win their own brand new Fiat 500 and many other prizes.
The competition will be subject to a public vote, as usual, and the shortlist from this will be judged by Fiat.
This competition will be open for submissions from 20 June.
