What you need to do
Each month, at London’s Curzon Soho, Under the Influence & Curzon Cinemas present an eclectic mix of late night cult films - from horror, animation and westerns to 80s, grindhouse and arthouse. With live music and a party atmosphere, a free Taboo drink and prizes for the best dressed, Curzon Midnight Movies is an event, not just a screening. Past guests at sold-out nights have included: Bruce Campbell, Roger ‘King of The B’s’ Corman, The League of Gentlemen’s Jeremy Dyson and acclaimed comedian Robin Ince.
Tickets are on sale via the Curzon Soho box office, by tel: 0871 7033 988 or at curzoncinemas.com

The Client
Curzon Midnight Movies and Cine-Excess III are running ‘A Night with George A. Romero’ on May 1 - a tribute to this icon of cult cinema. Films to be screened will be:
- The Night of the Living Dead
- Dawn of the Dead
- Day of the Dead
To celebrate this very special event we would like you to design a quad poster for the night - something that celebrates the films of Romero, his legendary status and in particular his love of zombies. In case you don’t already know about the cinema icon who created the first modern zombie flick, Night of the Living Dead, and the seminal follow-up, check out this list of Romero's films.
The winner will receive a raft of prizes, from Curzon membership to DVDs, books and tickets (see Prize section for full details).
We look forward to seeing the fruits of your creative brains. We like brains. They taste good…
How to enter
The poster must be designed to quad size specifications - see below - and include the unedited logos of: Curzon Midnight Movies, Under the Influence, Taboo logo and the Don’t Panic logo.
The poster must also include the ticket booking details, as mentioned above. The name of the night is ‘A NIGHT WITH GEORGE A.ROMERO’ and this must feature prominently in your design along with the date & time: Fri 1 May, live music from 9:30pm, films from 11:30pm.
Important: If you are thinking of using images from films or film posters please make sure you do not copy them directly, but create your own interpretation of them.
Design specs:
- Quad poster, Landscape: 30ins x 40ins
- CMYK colour format
- The poster design should not carry text or important images on the edge of the poster. Ideally, a 2cm bleed should be left free of text or any important information.
- For purposes of voting and previewing in the web gallery, your entry needs to be formatted into a JPG or PNG format, resolution: 72dpi, Max Filesize: 1MB or less, before you begin submitting your entry. Please don't use apostrophes in your filename (e.g. "don'tpanicromero.jpg")
- If your poster is chosen as the winner, you will be contacted to send over the hi-res (300 dpi) version of it. So be prepared to have this quality version ready if you are chosen.
Voting will begin on 24th March 2009 and a shortlist of 4 designs will be judged by the Curzon Midnight Movies team. The overall winner will be announced on the 14th April.
