D*Face credits his childhood interest in graff to to Henry Chalfant’s Spraycan Art and Subway Art, which covered NYC’s growing community. He cites media and advertising as a key theme in his work - ‘You see this advertising that you’ve not chosen [...] I’m literally defacing it, nobody’s asked me if I’ve wanted to see that advert or billboard there’.
