Eine - Don't Panic Poster artist
DPTV speaks to legendary street artist Eine about the contradictions of graffiti, escaping prison and his pal Banksy.
Have you seen those big, beautiful letters on shop shutters around London and elsewhere? They're by Eine. He recently made the headlines as 'the Prime Minister' David Cameron gave one of his canvasses to Obama during his recent pilgrimage to the White House. Apparently Sam Cam is a fan and called Eine to arrange it.
Pre-hype Eine graciously agreed to produce a Don't Panic Poster (which will be available for free in The Packs in the next couple of weeks), and let us film him making it at his studio down on the south coast. Eine seems to personify that old cliche about inspiration and perspiration. He's super-talented but has combined his artistic abilities with a fierce work ethic and the sort of mania you need to be able to tag 1000s of flat surfaces. Watch the film for more.
We are also glad to announce that Eine is taking part in Wild Fantasies, A Decade of Don't Panic Posters. He will be one of ten artists producing new, limited edition screen prints to celebrate ten years of the Don't Panic Poster. The exhibition will be at Stolen Space toward the end of September.
